New Website for LAHBPA.org

Welcome to the new website for LAHBPA.org. We've upgraded many things and hope that you find this new design easier to use and more accessible. Below you will find a list of notable changes as well as where things are now. At anytime on the new site if you need to find something, you can use the search box at the bottom right to search the entire site. Some pages are still being worked on, so please pardon us for any links or pages that are not fully functional yet. We're migrating many years of data.

Overview of Updates:

  1. We've moved from a yellowish background to a clean white background that helps the text look sharper, there's also a new font in use that gives a crisper appearance on both computers and mobile devices.
  2. The 3 column appearance has been replaced with a single column containing multiple sections of data. The menu that was on the left column is now at the top of the website, the links to news sites and other racing industry websites have been moved to the bottom of the page, and files are now found on the page for the department the file applies to. 
  3. Announcement Bar - At the top of the page you'll notice a black bar. This will appear when there's an urgent news item. Clicking it will bring you to the full post with all the information. When there is not an urgent post, the bar will go away. Currently it will bring you to this post describing the new website.
  4. Menu - At present the menu consists of the following:
    1. LAHBPA.org - Clicking here brings you back to the main page
    2. Departments - This is where you'll find sites for each department and any files or information that pertain to that specific department. 
    3. Board of Directors - The current board in the same format as the previous site.
    4. Downloads - Here you will find past audits and meeting minutes. The pages have both been redesigned to help make finding the information easier.
    5. Offices - Contact information for all of our offices in the state.
    6. Contact Us - Our new contact us page. If you need help with something, fill out the form and we'll make sure someone helps you with your request.
    7. Social Links - You'll notice both Facebook and Twitter at present, we may add more in the future depending on demand.
  5. Social Media - There are now Facebook and Twitter icons both on the menu and at the bottom of the page. These links will bring you to our brand new social media pages. Any news items posted to this site will now also be posted to both of those sites, so if you find that an easier way to stay up to date with what is happening, you can now follow or like us on either of those and receive our updates that way.

    You can also like and share news posts to your own social media accounts using the links at the bottom of each post.

    If you'd like us to add any other social platforms please use the contact us page to let us know. We will do our best to add any other sites requested by our members.
  6. Email Alerts - When we have time sensitive news, we post it online as well as email it out to anyone who has requested to be emailed. If you would like to join our mailing list you'll find the subscription box at the bottom of every page. Please make sure if you sign up that you click the confirmation link in the email that will be sent to you. If you do not confirm your email address we will be unable to send you notices. Also check to make sure the email is not caught in your spam filters.

    We do not share your email address with anyone and only use it to send out notices of time sensitive news impacting our members.
