The Nomination must be received by the deadline date of December 3, 2020.
Here is how to Nominate a Candidate for Election to the Board of Directors and for President/Chairman:
All nominations must be written, be signed, clearly identify the person or persons making the nomination, be unambiguous (clear) as to the Member or Members being nominated and must be received by MK Election Services. at the address below not later than the deadline date of December 3, 2020 for nominations in order for a nomination to be valid.
A candidate may be nominated to run for and may only serve in one elected office.
You must send or deliver the nominations to MK Election Services and, since getting your nominations to them is your responsibility, you may wish to send them by more than one method. Their contact information for mailing and e-mailing is as follows:

Fair Grounds Management has announced that ship-ins are now allowed. Please call the racing office prior to arrival.
Training for Friday and Saturday will be from 7 AM to 11 AM with a 9 AM Break. No timed workouts. No training on Sunday. Intention is to resume regular training on hours Monday.

Direct Deposit Forms can be downloaded from the Louisiana HBPA website at lahbpa.org under “downloads” then “bookkeeper forms” or by clicking here.
Each owner in a Multi-Person ownership account must fill out a form for the bookkeeper account designating one person that can initiate a direct deposit request for the account.
Direct Deposits are generally completed within two business days.

Fair Grounds Management has announced that horsemen that have been assigned stalls can begin can moving in on Monday October 26th. Training will be daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a thirty-minute break.
Fair Grounds requires each person to present a negative Covid-19 test before entering the backside. The test must have been conducted within 72 hours of arrival.

Track will be open for training through Saturday, October 10th with training hours of 7AM to 11AM, break from 9-9:30.
Track will be closed Sunday, October 11th through Sunday, October 18th for maintenance.
Track will re-open on Monday, October 19th. Training hours: 7AM to 10AM, no break.
Clocker will be available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Sundays will be dark beginning on September 27th.
Stall rental begins on October 12th.

At a hearing today, the Fair Grounds’ Temporary Restraining Order has been dissolved and the Louisiana Racing Commission’s emergency ruling is in effect.
The LAHBPA is discussing with Fair Grounds to have horses relocate as soon as possible.

Dear Charles:
Hurricane Laura struck southwest Louisiana on Thursday morning August 27, 2020 causing massive amounts of destruction and damage. Unfortunately, Delta Downs race track suffered significant damage as well. Two days prior to the storm making landfall, attempts were made by the LAHBPA to relocate approximately 700 quarter horses and their caretakers that were located at Delta Downs to Fair Grounds. This attempt was unsuccessful. As a result, these horses and their caretakers endured the storm at Delta Downs which fortunately did not result in loss of life to horses or people.
