As we quickly approach the start of our 150th season at FG, I wanted to pass on the official timelines for the arrival of horsemen allotted stalls for the 2021-2022 TB meet. The past 45 days have been difficult for both our city and the racetrack itself. CDI and our local team have been going at full speed to assure that we will be ready for the successful start of racing on Thanksgiving Day. Please note the following significant dates for arrival and morning training for the upcoming meet:

Fair Grounds has indicated that horsemen can bed stalls on October 29th, and move horses in on October 31st. Training begins on November 2nd.

Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana, which will hold its 2021 Yearling Sale followed by mixed session on October 2nd at Equine Sales Facility in Opelousas, Louisiana has a total of 116 head catalogued. The entries include 85 yearlings, 21 broodmares and 10 weanlings, with supplemental entries still being accepted.

This is a “don’t miss” opportunity to buy a quality Accredited Louisiana Bred with purses expected to rise with the passage of Legislation allowing Historical Racing Games in Louisiana.

The Main LAHBPA office in New Orleans will resume normal operations Monday September 13th at 8AM following the restoration of power and water.

Our main office will be closed for the time being. There is currently no power anywhere in the region. Our other offices are open as possible and we are working to re-route calls to open offices so that we can continue to take care of our members.
